On Tuesday night this week the cubs and keas all walked up to the top of Bloomfield park. Previously the scouts had dug out some fire pits so these were put to good use.
All the children collected firewood, and made one huge pile - I think they thought we were going to have a great bonfire. Then the Sixers with the help of a few scouts started the fires. Pretty soon we had lots of happy cubs and keas cooking damper bread and roasting marshmallows.
Lots of parents came along too and I think they all had a great time.
Hopefully we will get some pictures up soon of the event.

Well it is now 2008 and we have a new theme for Term 1 - Moving Mountains.
Some of the mountains that need to be moved are personal ones - which means that each Cub will have some personal challenges to overcome.
The challenges we are setting are
- complete one interest badge in Term 1 - see your Cub book for ideas
- improve your memory with Kim's game - cubs view 15 objects for 1.5 minutes, then have
to write down as many as they can remember
Also, we will have challenges for each Six
The first challenge is to improve on a relay race result.
This week all the Sixes had a go and recorded the following times
Blue - 3.35
Green - 3.21
Black - 3.00
Yellow - 4.05
Red - 3.45
Over term 1 we will repeat the relay race and see if the sixes can improve their times.
The last set of challenges are pack challenges.
These will be
- cycle up Mt. Cook
- Climb a mountain
More will be revealed on this as the term progresses.....
So the challenge is on!
